چکیده

Using single-step approximations to the propagator, we show that real-time correlation functions can be expressed as integrals of smooth functions, and thus can be efficiently evaluated by Monte Carlo methods. This approach allows direct calculation of correlation functions at intermediate temperatures over short to intermediate time lengths. 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Iterative Monte Carlo formulation of real-time correlation functions.

We present an iterative Monte Carlo path integral methodology for evaluating thermally averaged real-time correlation functions. Standard path integral Monte Carlo methods are used to sample paths along the imaginary time contour. Propagation of the density matrix is performed iteratively on a grid composed of the end points of the sampled paths. Minimally oscillatory propagators are constructe...

Quantum time correlation functions from complex time Monte Carlo simulations: A maximum entropy approach

We present a way of combining real-time path integral Monte Carlo simulations with a maximum entropy numerical analytic continuation scheme in a new approach for calculating time correlation functions for finite temperature many body quantum systems. The real-time dynamics is expressed in the form of the symmetrized time correlation function, which is suitable for Monte Carlo methods, and sever...

We show that significant improvement is achieved by including short-time CMD da...

Forward-backward Semiclassical Simulation of Dynamical Processes in Liquids

Forward-backward semiclassical dynamics (FBSD) provides a practical methodology for including quantum mechanical effects in classical trajectory simulations of polyatomic systems. FBSD expressions for time-dependent expectation values or correlation functions take the form of phase space integrals with respect to trajectory initial conditions, weighted by the coherent state transform of a corre...

A Bayesian analysis of Green’s function Monte Carlo correlation functions

Imaginary-time correlation functions calculated by quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) are analyzed using the maximum entropy method (MaxEnt) to determine the ground-state energy and spectral overlap function. In contrast to earlier applications of MaxEnt, the data is obtained from importanced-sampled zero-temperature quantum Monte Carlo simulations. The analysis includes two steps. First, that spectral ...
